The Wallyford Learning Campus is a transformative facility designed to meet both educational and community needs in East Lothian. It combines cutting-edge learning environments with inclusive spaces, serving as a model for future developments that prioritise innovation and sustainability.
This multi-functional hub offers secondary education alongside specialist support for young people with severe and complex needs. It also features a dedicated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Centre, designed to foster innovation and collaboration. In addition to its educational facilities, the campus includes community and sports amenities, as well as environmentally focused outdoor learning areas.
Delivered through the Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP), Wallyford Learning Campus aligns with Scotland’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
The project team utilised the Scottish Futures Trust’s Standard Information Management process, collaborating with stakeholders using Dalux 3D visualisation software to enhance understanding throughout the design phase. A LEIP Best Practice Collaborative Process also guided the team through the RIBA stages, ensuring smooth delivery and compliance.
