Galliford Try’s Building North West business has handed over new school buildings for the King’s Leadership Academy in Bolton, on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE) and the Great Schools Trust.
The new secondary school is built to accommodate 900 students aged 11-16 and is located in the Great Lever area of Bolton. The project included a new two-storey school building, as well as new hard and soft play areas, in addition to two new sports pitches.
Following the main school building completion, King’s Leadership Academy is able to host various events, including adult learning programmes, special interest group meetings, and extra-curricular sports activities, which will greatly benefit the local community.
Shane Ierston, Chief Executive of the Great Schools Trust, commented: "Unveiling this remarkable new school building reflects our commitment to provide our students with an environment where curiosity thrives, innovation blossoms and will empower every student to become a leader in their own right.
“As part of the local community, we are also looking forward to being able to welcome local groups and teams to use our facilities.”
Darren Parker, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building North West, added: “The new King’s Leadership Academy is a fantastic new school which we are delighted to be handing over to the staff and pupils.
“It’s a great addition to the strong portfolio of education projects we have built in the region, and we hope both the school and the wider community benefit from this high-quality facility for years to come.”
