Galliford Try Facilities Management (GTFM) has partnered with GB Partnerships and Barking, Dagenham & Havering LIFTCo to deliver a new playground at the Barking Child and Family Health Centre.

The playground, completed in December 2024, provides a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space designed to bring families and children from the local community together, fostering both mental and physical wellbeing.

The playground has been carefully designed to accommodate children of all abilities, promoting inclusion and accessibility. The works involved the installation of inclusive soft play equipment, new fencing, seating and the use of FSC-certified materials, ensuring the project aligned with sustainable practices.

Led by Area Manager Dean O’Brien, the GTFM team completed the works in just over two weeks, contributing £5,000 towards the project. The result is a hub for the community that underscores GTFM’s commitment to improving the spaces in which it operates.

Galliford Try currently provides Hard FM services to Barking, Dagenham, and Havering Health Centres, and this playground further strengthens the relationship with the local community.

Steve Catlin, Managing Director for Galliford Try Facilities Management, said: “We are incredibly proud to have supported the creation of this new playground at Barking Child and Family Health Centre.

“Projects like this demonstrate how we can make a real difference to the communities we serve, providing spaces that enhance wellbeing and foster inclusion. My thanks go to the team for delivering such excellent service and maintaining a fantastic relationship with all of our stakeholders on the project.”
