Kim Downes named Rising Star of the Year

Kim Downes, Quantity Surveyor for Galliford Try’s Environment business, has been crowned Utility Week’s Rising Star of the Year.

The Utility Week Awards are the industry’s celebration of the companies and individuals that are the very best in the water sector and Kim was recognised for her hard work and exemplary mentorship.

Since joining Galliford Try in 2017 as an Assistant Procurement Buyer, Kim has displayed remarkable dedication and skill. Now in her final year of a BSc (Hons) in Construction and the Built Environment, Kim has maintained a top position in her degree program while managing significant responsibilities within the company.

Her contributions include overseeing projects within Scottish Water’s £600m capital delivery program and successfully delivering the Crawley SCADA project ahead of schedule. Additionally, Kim has played an integral role in achieving cost savings on the Chessington pipeline project.
