Galliford Try announces two key updates to the plc Board of Galliford Try.
First, the Group welcomes Alison Wood as Non-executive Director with effect from 1 April 2022 when she will formally join the Board. On appointment, Alison will become a member of Galliford Try’s Audit, Remuneration and Nomination committees. Alison brings with her extensive experience from roles including Group Strategic Director at BAE Systems, Global Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at National Grid PLC. She has a BA in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford and MBA from Harvard Business School. Alison is a Non-executive Director at TT Electronics PLC, Capricorn Energy PLC, Oxford Instruments PLC and British Standards Institution.
The Board also announces that, following over seven years on the Board, Peter Ventress intends to step down as Non-executive Chairman and will leave the company after the full year results in September. Peter has played a key role in the business, most recently overseeing the demerger of the housing divisions in 2020, the Group’s return to profitability and the acquisition of nmcn water last year.
Alison will, following a period of transition and handover, assume the role of Chair of the Board and Chair of the Nomination Committee when Peter steps down.
