Galliford Try shortlisted for three ICE Yorkshire and Humber Awards

Galliford Try’s Environment business has been named as a finalist for three top awards in this year’s Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Yorkshire and Humber Awards, which recognise exceptional projects, teamwork and individual excellence.

The Group’s collaboration with Yorkshire Water and engineers GHD on the Sewage Spill Reduction Programme (SSRP) at Cricket Inn Crescent in Sheffield is a finalist for the ‘Smeaton’ Award, celebrating projects under £5m that exemplify civil engineering excellence. The project also received a shortlisting for the ‘Sir John Fowler’ Award that recognises exceptional projects centred around studies or research. The SSRP project focuses on addressing overflow issues while implementing a low-carbon solution to reduce spills. 

Additionally, the Harton Service Reservoir project working with Yorkshire Water, GHD and Murtagh Precast Ltd received a shortlisting for the Centenary Award for exemplifying the very best in engineering, collaboration, and innovation. This project aims to set new benchmarks for future reservoir initiatives while delivering significant social, environmental, and economic benefits.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 13 March at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull.
