Galliford Try has received several nominations at this year’s UK Façade Awards for its Alder Hey Catkin Centre & Sunflower House, BOHO X and Swan School projects.
The Façade Awards, created by Roofing, Cladding & Insulation (RCI) magazine, celebrates the achievements of façade contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers who demonstrate a high level of technical ability and outstanding quality of work.
Galliford Try’s Building North East and Yorkshire was shortlisted for ‘Best Use of a Curtain Walling System’ for Boho X, a project intended to spend 80% of its costs locally, while the Building Southern team has been shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Timber Cladding System’ for Swan Secondary School, Oxford's first new education facility of its type to be built in Oxford for over 50 years for the Department for Education (DfE).
In addition, The Alder Hey Catkin Centre & Sunflower House project by the Building North West team, which provides outpatient mental health and neurodevelopmental facilities for children and young people, has been shortlisted for ‘Best New Build Project’ in recognition of its overall appearance and how it complements its surroundings and challenges and logistics involved to complete the project. The scheme was also nominated for ‘Best Use of Rain Screen Using Specialist Metal’.
Ian Jubb, Managing Director of Galliford Try’s Building division, commented: “The Façade Awards provide a hallmark of excellence, particularly relating to high quality and technical expertise. We are delighted to have received four nominations across our Building division which speaks to the calibre of our teams and subcontractors across the country. I wish the best of luck to everyone at this year’s awards."
