Galliford Try and Morrison Construction have been shortlisted for multiple awards at this year’s Education Property Awards, reflecting the Groups’ commitment to creating innovative and sustainable learning environments.
Bloxham Grove Academy and Beatlie School have both been nominated for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Project of the Year.
Beatlie School Campus, built by Morrison Construction Building Central for West Lothian Council and its development partner Hub South East, is a new, state-of-the-art school that supports children and young people aged three to 18 with complex needs. It features specially designed spaces, including a sensory garden, hydrotherapy pool and NHS Child Development Centre to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Meanwhile, Bloxham Grove Academy, a special Department for Education (DfE) free school built by Galliford Try Building Southern and delivered through the DfE Framework. It supports students aged seven to 18 with a range of needs, including autism and emotional challenges. The project was recently recognised with a Constructing Excellence SECBE award for delivering value to the community.
In addition, Shireland CBSO Academy delivered by Galliford Try Building West Midlands and South West, also through the DfE Framework is nominated for School Project of the Year. The project is the first state school in Britain to be established in partnership with a national orchestra created by the innovative repurposing and refurbishment of an office building. It features a 300-seat performance hall, music studios, drama rooms and sports facilities.
Finally, East Calder Primary School, built by Morrison Construction Building Central with West Lothian Council and Hub South East, is a finalist for Primary School Project of the Year. The new primary school features a distinctive triangular-shaped building designed to maximise energy efficiency and enhance educational connectivity throughout its modern learning spaces for future students.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Leeds Marriott Hotel on 20 May.
