Galliford Try, one of the UK’s leading construction groups, announces that it has launched its plan for growth in the affordable homes market, with its appointment to two significant sector frameworks.

Following the engagement of Dr Angela Brockbank as the new Affordable Homes Sector Director, the Group is implementing its strategic approach to the market, that will see the business target low- and medium-rise affordable apartments, building on its existing capabilities in the build to rent market.

As a result, the business has now been awarded a place on the new eight-year, £3.2 billion Communities & Housing Investment Consortium (CHIC) Newbuild Development Framework for affordable housing, on the £2.5 million Lot 2 for new build projects worth more than £10 million, and the £650 million Lot 3, for regeneration projects.

In addition, Galliford Try has been appointed by Homes England to its Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). The procurement vehicle, which is set to run until 2031, opens up opportunities for affordable housing development schemes and land opportunities, as well as Extra Care and other forms of supported living scheme.

Being part of these important procurement channels will allow Galliford Try to work with the sector to unlock sites and deliver much needed quality homes.

Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: “There is a clear opportunity in affordable homes that our business can target, with our strong current track record in high density residential, and the heritage of the Galliford Try business in this sector. We look forward to working with CHIC and Homes England to play our part in the coming years in increasing the supply of much-needed affordable housing for communities across the country.”
