Neus Garriock, Business Development Manager for Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands business, has been appointed as Vice-Chair for the local enterprise partnership demonstrating both her and the business’s commitment to working with public sector partners to promote a positive impact on local communities.
Neus is now the Private Sector Vice-Chair of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP), having originally joined the body in 2018. Enterprise Partnerships are a collaboration between public, private and third sector bodies and businesses that help develop and promote regional growth strategies in their locality.
As part of her work with the SEMLEP, Neus has been making the most of Galliford Try’s volunteering days, which allow for fully-paid time away from the business to work with local charities and industry bodies.
Neus commented: “My experience to date is that when the best of the public and private sector come together, they can go on to deliver really exceptional things. As the Private Sector Deputy Chair, I hope to make even more local businesses voices heard. I’m a great believer that all together, we can really make a difference locally.”
Hilary Chipping, Chief Executive of SEMLEP said, “We’re delighted to welcome Neus as Private Sector Deputy Chair and look forward to the insight she brings to the role. The next year will present many challenges, but it will also provide us with many opportunities for our economy. Together we will do everything we can to maximise these to benefit our businesses, support our people and enhance our places.”
