Galliford Try has published its Net Zero Route Map, setting out how the business aims to achieve its science-based and net zero carbon targets.
The route map is designed to assist Galliford Try’s teams to understand the priority actions that will lead to the ultimate goal of achieving net zero on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, and across Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 2045.
In developing the route map, the business has set out the ultimate ambitions and milestone targets across 16 different activities including the use of diesel, company vehicles, site compounds, permanent offices, business travel, design, construction materials, emissions measurement, internal carbon charging and offsetting.
Among the key milestones included is the business’s commitment to purchasing 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by the end of 2025, and sending zero construction waste to landfill by 2026.
Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: “Addressing climate change and reducing our carbon footprint is imperative to the long-term sustainability of the business and the future of the UK, as well as being the right thing to do.
“The publication of our route map is therefore an important step in our Sustainable Growth Strategy as we reinforce our commitment to our net zero goals with a clear and transparent route to how we intend to achieve our targets, allowing all our stakeholders to understand and participate in this shared mission.”
