Galliford Try’s Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre (EMHC) project has been shortlisted for Estates and Facilities Team of the Year at the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM) Awards and Social Project of the Year at the Association for Project Management (APM) Awards.

The £12.2m EMHC facility built by Galliford Try’s Building Southern business and delivered in conjunction with gbpartnerships, was shortlisted for the IHEEM Estates and Facilities Team of the Year category for demonstrating outstanding achievement, performance and delivery of estates and facilities services.

Meanwhile, the nomination for Social Project of the Year at the APM Awards acknowledged the project’s significant impact on the community. It has generated approximately £7.5m worth of social value, which included the creation of 58 local jobs, 171 apprenticeship weeks delivered, three career events, and community engagement through notice boards, and fundraising for local charities.

Designed by LSI Architects, the EMHC features public services occupying the ground floor, including a GP practice, outpatient services, a minor injury unit, phlebotomy, therapies, and social prescribing. A memorial garden area for conservation, and photovoltaic panels on the roof harnessing renewable energy on-site are also included.

The same scheme received a Silver award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Awards earlier this year.

Commenting on the award nomination, Laura Hodgetts, Health Director for Galliford Try, said: "We are delighted that the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre that is serving as a pivotal hub for the Kent community has been nominated for both the IHEEM and APM awards. It is a fantastic example of primary care facility delivering vital community services and I wish the team the best of luck at the awards ceremony in October."

Winners will be announced on 8 October at The Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester for the IHEEM Awards, and on 18 November at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge for the APM Awards.
