Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands business has successfully completed the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) located at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital for the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Trust.

CDCs provide a broad range of elective diagnostics away from acute facilities, reducing pressure on hospitals and giving patients quicker and more convenient access to tests.

The new CDC incorporates a large reception area which will facilitate efficient patient access and enhance overall patient experience. Additionally, the imaging contact centre has been relocated from the Derby acute site to optimise the use of the new CDC and the DeXA service will also move across shortly.

Equipped with advanced medical technology, the centre features three fixed Computed Tomography (CT) scanners. Other capabilities include cutting-edge ultrasound, mammography equipment, X-ray equipment, MRI, along with Phlebotomy, Point of Care (POCT), Dermoscopy, Physiological Measurement (Echocardiography, Cardiology and Respiratory) tests.

Jon Marston, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building East Midlands, said: "The completion of the Community Diagnostic Centre at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital is a testament to our commitment to enhancing healthcare access and patient experience. Featuring advanced technology and a design focused on patient comfort, the CDC will also provide greater convenience for patients, by offering multiple tests on one site and enabling swifter diagnostics. This centre will be crucial in delivering outstanding medical care throughout Derbyshire.”
