Galliford Try has been recognised by the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) for its commitment to the scheme, winning the Partner award for Supply Chain Engagement, at the school’s annual summit.
The Group is a partner to the school which is a leading online resource for businesses within the built environment supply chain, aiming to upskill the workforce and improve the understanding of best practice in sustainability.
Galliford Try has consistently promoted the use of the SCSS throughout its supply chain, as part of its drive to increase the awareness of sustainability issues throughout the construction sector and support its own sustainability goals.
Ian Heptonstall, Director of the SCSS, commented: “Congratulations to Galliford Try for winning our Supply Chain Engagement award at our Annual Summit. The School is a collaboration of companies working together to upskill their suppliers on sustainability issues.
“The School only works if our Partners are willing to put in the effort to engage their suppliers, so it’s a big thank you to Andrew Spencer and his team at Galliford Try for this well-deserved award that recognises all the hard work over the last year that has resulted in their suppliers completing over 5,700 of our e-learning modules and accessing the School’s online learning resources over 36,000 times.”
Andrew Spencer, Group Supply Chain and Procurement Director for Galliford Try, said: “Our Advantage through Alignment supply chain programme is centred around being close to our supply chain and encouraging best practice, and the SCSS is a very important tool in helping us to do this.
“We are delighted that they have recognised the steps we have taken with his award, and will continue to work with them to promote and expand the excellent training, tools and support they offer to our sector.”
