Galliford Try’s Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre (EMHC) project was highly commended in the Estates and Facilities Team of The Year category at this year’s Building Better Healthcare (BBH) Awards.

The EMHC facility, designed by LSI Architects and delivered in conjunction with Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust and gbpartnerships, was celebrated for its collaborative efforts of estates and facilities teams, both in-house and contractors, and across both public and privately-operated health and social care organisations.

The £12.2m EMHC is a two-storey facility featuring public services on the ground floor and staff amenities above. It offers a range of services including a GP practice, outpatient care, a minor injury unit and X-ray services, along with a memorial garden and community spaces aimed at enhancing healthcare access and integration within the community.

The project was also recognised as a finalist in the Best Healthcare Development under £25m category.

Commenting on the award, Laura Hodgetts, Healthcare Director for Galliford Try, said: "Winning the commendation for the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre is a testament to our dedication to providing high-quality community-focused healthcare solutions. This project showcases our commitment to providing flexible and accessible spaces that prioritise the well-being of the community. We are proud to be recognised among the best in the industry, reinforcing our mission to enhance local health services for everyone."

The Building Better Healthcare Awards celebrate innovation in the healthcare construction, medical device and technology sectors.
