Galliford Try has received Silver from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) in recognition of the Group’s commitment to the Armed Forces across recruitment processes.
The ERS encourages employers to support defence and pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces’ community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant which serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families.
In achieving Silver, Galliford Try has proactively demonstrated that service personnel and the Armed Forces community have been considered as part of their recruiting and selection processes, and publicised its policies in relation to the community.
The news builds on Galliford Try’s recent inclusion as a leading employer for people leaving the Armed Forces in a list of the Top 50 employers as named by the GREAT British Employers of Veterans programme.
Commenting on the award, Vikki Skene, Group HR Director for Galliford Try, said: “We are firmly earning a reputation as one of the top employers for services leavers and Reserves, recognising their skills, experience and dedication as a key talent pool for our business.
“Through our buddy systems, placements and tailored programmes that are shaped by the experiences of Galliford Try employees who have previously worked or continue to work with the military, we are committed to supporting the Armed Forces community, recognising the positive impact it makes to both those individuals and our business."
