Divannia McMaster, Assistant Design Manager for the Infrastructure business unit, has been shortlisted for the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Champion category at the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering 2024 awards.

Divannia began her journey with Galliford Try as a graduate back in 2019. Since then, her dedication and commitment have seen her impressively climb the ranks to her current position of Design Management Lead.

As a passionate advocate for STEM, Divannia has dedicated an extensive amount of time and effort to inspire the future generation, nurturing their interest in the STEM fields.

One of Divannia's notable contributions is her involvement in the Brightside Mentoring Programme. As a mentor, she played an important role in helping her 14-year-old female mentee, pursue her dreams and embark on a career path in the field of dentistry.

Divannia commented: "Being shortlisted for this award is truly an honour. Engaging in various STEM programmes and activities has been an amazing experience, and I've had the privilege of sharing the exciting opportunities available within STEM fields, sparking curiosity, and motivating others and being a proud advocate for women in construction.”

Following her nomination, Divannia will join the other finalists at the grand award ceremony in September.
David Lowery, Managing Director for Infrastructure, commented: “This shortlisting is testament to Divannia’s achievements promoting STEM and construction careers among young people. On behalf of all the team I thank her for her efforts and wholeheartedly wish Divannia the best of luck on the next stage of this exciting journey.”
