The Broad Marsh car park and bus station project has been named as a finalist in three categories at the East Midlands Property Awards.
Broad Marsh has been shortlisted for the Construction Project of the Year, Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year and Sustainable Development of the Year awards at the event which will take place on 8 September in Nottingham. Galliford Try is also sponsoring the Skills and Apprenticeship Scheme category at the awards, which are now in their 22nd year.
The £43m project, built on behalf of Nottingham City Council, replaced the dilapidated former carpark facility as part of the Council’s regeneration of Nottingham city centre. The new building provides a home for the city’s central bus station and public library, as well as featuring 1,200 parking spaces, with 81 electric vehicle charging projects and 720 roof-mounted, photovoltaic panels.
The project has already been celebrated at the Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards, winning the Integration & Collaborative Working Award, as well as being Highly Commended in the Construction Project of the Year category.
Jon Marston, Managing Director of Building East Midlands, commented: “The team at Broad Marsh did a fantastic job in producing a high-quality public facility that will serve the people of Nottingham for years to come. Their achievements have been recognised with these shortlistings across some very key categories, and I wish the team the best of luck for the awards in September.”
