Galliford Try’s Asset Intelligence business has received the Security Campaign of the Year award at this year’s Fire and Security Matters (FSM) Awards.
The FSM awards celebrate innovation and achievements in the fire and security sectors and this year Asset Intelligence has been awarded the Security Campaign of the Year, for their Vandalism Reduction to Rolling Stock campaign, in collaboration with rail operators, which significantly reduced vandalism on rolling stock across a regional rail depot estate.
Aimed at mitigating frequent overnight vandalism in and around London and South rail depots, the project addressed the financial and operational burdens of graffiti and trespassing, which previously led to service disruptions and high costs.
Utilising mobile CCTV systems with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) technology, conspicuous visibility, and remote communication, the initiative provided dynamic surveillance and immediate response capabilities. This strategic approach resulted in a drastic decrease in vandalism incidents, enhancing security and operational efficiency.
The success of the initial implementation has led to the expansion of the campaign, saving rail operators money and improving service reliability for travellers.
Uzair Osman, Managing Director for Galliford Try Asset Intelligence, commented: “This acknowledgment is a testament to our teams’ hard work and highlights the diverse range of skills and expertise present within our people. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
